The Wellington region's economy will receive a Christmas shot in the arm with the arrival of an estimated 8,500 passengers and crew from no less than three cruise ships calling at CentrePort this week.
CentrePort is pleased with the Wellington Northern Corridor proposals and is well placed to take advantage of them, the company's CEO Blair O'Keeffe said today.
A building which has "migrated" northwards along the Wellington waterfront, only slightly faster than the pace of Continental Drift, is now situated at the junction of Waterloo and Aotea Quays.
CentrePort today announced an underlying profit before tax of $11.4m for the year ended June 2009. The result mirrors the performance of the previous year.
