CentrePort enjoys the advantages of being based in a deep and spacious harbour basin, surrounded by a natural amphitheatre of hills.
As a result, the port offers safe anchorage for vessels awaiting orders and ample room for manoeuvring during arrival and departure. Generous draft is also provided, both wharf-side and at the wide harbour entrance.
All berths are long and straight, with no exposure to swells, and there are no beam restrictions on vessels calling at CentrePort.
This means we're well suited to handling the largest of vessels servicing New Zealand's cargo and tourism trade. This section details the vessels that are heading towards or away from our port and provides further information on shipping connections.
