Mark Petersen

Mark has 30 years experience in real estate investment, development, valuation and advisory services. He is also a Director of Wellington Waterfront Limited, (a Wellington City Council owned enterprise), Kinloch Funds Management Limited and Kinloch Funds Property Limited. Mark was previously Managing Director of Shortland Properties Limited, a property investment company listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange, a director of Management Services (WA) Limited and the manager of Australian listed Property Trust of Australasia. Mark was a Management Board member and Chair of the New Zealand Hockey Federation.

Richard Janes PhD Textile Engineering, BSC (HONS) Chemistry

Richard is a Wellington-based Company Director with over 25 years experience in international brand marketing. His current directorships include Asure Limited, the New Zealand Institute for Crop and Food Research Limited, the Gallagher Group Ltd and Ocean Design Group Ltd. Before becoming a full-time Company Director, Richard was Chief Executive of the New Zealand Game Industry Board from 1991 to 1996. He worked for the International Wool Secretariat from 1981 to 1991 as the London-based Director of International Marketing, and is also a past Director of Kapiti Cheeses Ltd and Landcorp Farming.

Malcolm Johnson BA, BCA, FIDNZ

Malcolm is a Wellington-based businessman and consulting company Director, and was appointed to the Board in 1996. He serves on a number of private and public company Boards (involved in public relations, horticulture, forestry and rural land development) and is a Trustee of the Globus Group and NZ Police Superannuation Schemes, as well as a member of the Wellington Branch Committee of the Institute of Directors of NZ Inc. Malcolm has held various senior management positions in New Zealand and overseas, principally in the finance sector, and is a former General Manager of the SOE Works and Development Services Corporation (NZ).

Jim Jefferies - BCOM, FCA

A Chartered Accountant with a strong interest in business development, Jim was appointed to the Board in 1996. He has a number of directorships and provides business advice to a select portfolio of clients in the health, contracting, new technology, science, distribution and transport sectors. In addition to his business interests, Jim has a strong commitment to the Manawatu community. He is a councilor for the Palmerston North City Council and is a past Deputy Mayor of Palmerston North.

David Benham - BCA

David provides the Board with a regional perspective as the current Chief Executive of Greater Wellington Regional Council. He previously held roles in that Council as Chief Financial Officer and Divisional Manager for the Council’s Water Supply and Plantation Forestry operations. Prior to joining Greater Wellington in 1989 David held a number of finance positions in the liquor, retailing and insurance industries. He is also a Director of New Zealand Water & Wastes Association.

Warren Larsen (Chairman) BBS, MAGSC (HONS), CA, CMA, FNZIM, CNZM

Warren, the former Chief Executive of the New Zealand Dairy Board, brings to CentrePort crucial marketing knowledge and experience of the dairy and other export sectors. Under his guidance, the NZ Dairy Board embarked upon a major path of innovation and performance enhancement, resulting in export income, turnover and shareholder value all increasing dramatically in a short space of time. Warren, who was the first-ever recipient of a NZ Dairy Industry Fellowship Award, also currently serves as Deputy Chairman of Landcorp Farming Ltd, Board Member of the Massey University Foundation, Director of Air New Zealand Ltd and Director of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology. He is also the former Chairman for the New Zealand Racing Industry Board.
