CentrePort and PortConnect announce new partnership
11 July 2025
PortConnect and CentrePort Wellington are pleased to announce they have signed an agreement, that will result in the Port starting to use services provided by this leading New Zealand supply chain software company.
The partnership will allow exporters and importers, using the port services of CentrePort Wellington, to access the PortConnect platform.
PortConnect and CentrePort will initially roll out “vessel schedules” onto the platform starting 1st August 2025, and will work together to add additional features in 2026.
CentrePort’s General Manager, Commercial, Andrew Locke, said that joining this industry partnership is an opportunity to provide shippers consistency in data transparency, through a single platform.
“As a small country, the bespoke nature of many ports’ systems wasn’t necessarily adding value to the supply chain. With New Zealand’s largest container ports (handling circa 2.5 million TEU) having developed the (PortConnect) platform, it’s somewhat of a ‘no brainer’ to use it.”
PortConnect General Manager Dan Cowie said,
“PortConnect is pleased to welcome CentrePort Wellington to the PortConnect platform. We are excited to add to CentrePort's world class efforts to bring greater efficiencies to the Port and Logistics Community in the central and southern North Island. CentrePort joining the PortConnect platform is a key milestone in our vision to provide a truly integrated national solution. It enables supply chain participants to benefit from greater standardisation, operational visibility, and efficiency."
