As a Cruise Host, you'll represent CentrePort and Wellington by providing friendly, professional assistance to passengers and crew. You'll share local knowledge, support cruise activities and help deliver a smooth and positive visitor experience.
What you'll be doing
- Welcome and assist cruise passengers and crew.
- Provide information on local attractions, transport and visitor services.
- Support cruise terminal operations, passenger movements and general enquiries.
- Liaise with tour operators, transport providers and other stakeholders.
- Set up and pack down cruise terminal facilities.
- Process payments and complete administrative tasks as required.
- Provide operational support to the wider team when required.
About you
You'll be someone who enjoys working with people, adapts well to changing priorities and is comfortable working in a busy operational environment. You'll bring:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A friendly, professional and approachable manner.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence using computers, tablets and digital systems.
- A commitment to safety and following operational procedures.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends, public holidays and extended hours during the cruise season.
- A good level of physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors.
- Knowledge of Wellington and its attractions is an advantage.
